About our Hospital

Our Hospital Animal Emergency Referral Center is a multidisciplinary hospital offering a wide range of specialty services including a 24-hour emergency/critical care department, radiology department, nuclear imaging, department of internal medicine and avian and exotic care. All specialty disciplines are available by appointment.

MEET OUR DOCTORS

Triage

We will examine and treat your pet as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, at times, we experience a rush of emergencies and must evaluate each patient based on the triage system. This means the more critical cases will be examined and treated before the less serious patients. A wait may be necessary.

Visiting Hours
The hospital’s regular visiting hours are between 9am-9pm, 7 days a week. Although we are a 24 hour Emergency/Critical Care hospital, during the weekdays we are also a referral center. We do not have as many emergency cases during the normal daytime hours and that is when it is best for us to accommodate visitors.

Care
Animal Emergency Referral Center combines the latest in medical technology and veterinary expertise to create an atmosphere where both our referring veterinarians and pet owners feel confident in the quality of care and treatment provided. Patients within the hospital and Intensive Care Unit are cared for by experienced veterinary health care professionals. The professional team includes board certified specialists in internal medicine, radiology and emergency/critical care; a highly experienced emergency and critical care team; veterinarian with a special interest in avian and exotic care; registered veterinary technicians; patient care assistants and a patient advocate working together to assure optimum patient care.

Courtesy
Courtesy is one of the most important components of the relationship between pet owners and staff. We understand that having a beloved pet hospitalized can be difficult. We believe that with the intensity of the human/animal bond we must constantly strive for sensitive, humane and respectful relationships with our patients and their owners. Our patients’ dignity, our owners’ concerns and our referring veterinarians’ dedicated care will be fully honored. By working together, we are able to provide the best care and treatment for our patients.

Communication
To facilitate communication, our staff is available 24 hours every day. We will notify the person designated as the patient contact if there are any major changes. Our center has a Patient Advocate available to address pet owner questions, compliments or concerns. In addition to maintaining communication with our patients’ families, we are in constant communication with your family veterinarian. We provide daily updates to your veterinarian regarding your pet’s current condition. Upon discharge a complete report, including diagnostic test results, treatment history and discharge instructions are forwarded to your family veterinarian.
